Rational Discourse

“The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new lands but in seeing with new eyes.”
— Marcel Proust
“Reason is light; In It there is no darkness...”
[1 ID 1:5]
The Irrational Discourse podcast delves into topics ranging from the benign to the not-so-benign, in an inquisitive, respectful, and non-judgmental manner, with the somewhat naïve hope of restoring into our society a little logic, reason, civility, intellectual humility, compassion, inclusiveness, and rational debate.
If we are all more willing to questions our own beliefs, recognize the magnitude of what we don't know or understand, confront our personal biases, and accept the possibility that our core beliefs might just be wrong, then maybe we can make the world a better place.

The God Debate: A Beginner's Guide to the Conflict of Reason and Faith
Drawing inspiration from our four "Oh God" episodes and countless months of email correspondence debating everything biblical, The God Debate is a respectful and entertaining exploration of the contradictions, horrors, ambiguities, and immoral mandates found within the thirty-nine books of the Old.

Season 2:
Even though it's delayed because of The God Debate launch, we're looking forward to kicking off Season 2 with a slightly new format. Still irrational, fun, and sufficiently geeky, but with less of a focus on the controversial and more of a focus on anything and everything we want to talk about.
“Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn”
— Benjamin Franklin
We may not know what we're doing, but we have inspiration on our side!
Being new to the podcasting world, we have a lot to learn. Fortunately, not knowing what were doing hasn't slowed us down thus far, and we'll continue to push the envelope until we hit our intellectual ceiling. That may not be a very long journey, but we plan on enjoying the ride.
While we try to bring some level of enlightenment to the table, our guests are the true fonts of wisdom and insight into the topics we discuss. More importantly, the show is for our listeners, and we rely on their involvement to help make it a success. Please contact us at any time with suggestions, thoughts, opinions, or feedback.
Just try to keep the discourse rational. All we need is love.
